500 grams (approximately 4 cups) of all-purpose flour
60 grams (approximately 1/4 cup) of sugar
3 deciliters (approximately 1 1/4 cups) of cold milk
20 grams (approximately 2 tablespoons) of yeast or 1/2 packet of dry yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
250 grams (approximately 1 cup) of cold butter
1 egg (beaten)
150 grams (approximately 5.3 ounces) of dark chocolate
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.Add cold milk and knead until you have a smooth dough. It should be elastic and not too sticky.
Cut cold butter into small pieces and knead them into the dough until fully incorporated. Add chopped dark chocolate and knead it evenly into the dough.
Divide the dough into portions and shape them into brioche rolls or loaves. Place them on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and let them rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Bake the brioche for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
